Troubleshooting: every message, in plain words
What each message from the robot means and what to do.
| You see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid OAuth access token, Session has expired | The account's key stopped working: the password was changed, access was withdrawn, or it ran out. | On Accounts, press Reconnect on that account. Then Try failed ones again on the post. |
| No key stored | That account is not connected. | Connect it, or remove it from the post. |
| Permission, (#10), (#200) | The key works but lacks a permission this needs (often for first comments or stats). | Connect the account again and allow everything pickthepost asks for. |
| Threads text is over 500 characters | The caption is too long for Threads. | Give Threads its own caption. See Captions per platform. |
| Bluesky text is over 300 characters | Too long for Bluesky. | Give Bluesky its own caption. |
| Image is over Bluesky's 976 KB limit | A picture is too heavy for Bluesky. | Use a smaller JPEG (1080 × 1350 at normal quality fits). |
| Instagram container ERROR | Instagram could not use the file. | Check the file limits: Instagram takes JPEG photos only. |
| Facebook could not process the video | Facebook refused the video file. | Export it again as MP4 (H.264, AAC) and post it again. |
| Still processing after an hour | The platform did not finish preparing the video in an hour. | Try again; if it repeats, export a shorter or smaller file. |
| 429, rate limit | The platform asked to slow down. | Nothing: the robot waits and tries again. |
| Robot late (top bar) | The robot has not run for more than 15 minutes. | See the status page. Posts due meanwhile go out at the next run. |
